Points to keep in mind

When becoming a Project Access Mentor, here are a couple useful points for you!

1. All communications with Project Access team members are happening over Slack. It is also a platform to become part of our mentor community. Please make sure to join Slack once (look out for an invitation email).
2. You are also encouraged to communicate with your mentee(s) on Slack. However, in terms of mentor-mentee communications, you are free to choose whoever method works best for you.
3. Part of your responsibility is completing monthly forms/quizzes. This allows us to track your performance and improve our Programs. Please do not ignore them! After 3 consecutive incomplete quizzes, we will consider you inactive.
4. Please encourage and remind your mentees to fill in their own forms/quizzes. Don’t worry — we will share with reminder via Slack when the forms/quizzes are sent out to the mentees.
5. We also expect you to help with mentor recruitment. Sometimes we might ask you to share information about Project Access at your university or on social media or simply invite your friends. No pressure — whatever works best for you!
6. A Couple Safeguarding Rules
- You should be able to spot abuse (including that which occurs outside of Project Access). Even if you are not familiar with the legal codes of the mentees’ country, always raise your concerns. Better safe than sorry!
- You should make clear to your mentees (preferably at the start of your relationship) in what cases you will not maintain confidentiality please see the Basic Training document, Module 4)
- If you spot abuse, please report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead — Weronika Kopec

In order to be matched with a mentee, you must fill out the Pairing form, which is available upon completing the quiz
