What is the Access Fellows Program?

The Access Fellows Program is a student-led ambassador initiative by Project Access. It gives you (yes, you!) the chance to take on a meaningful leadership role right from your own school.

As an Access Fellow, you’ll act as the bridge between Project Access and your school community. You’ll help more students learn about our mentorship, bootcamps, and support resources. You’ll connect your peers to opportunities they might not otherwise know exist. And you’ll shape the future of Project Access by providing honest feedback from the perspective that matters most: the student voice.

Being an Access Fellow isn’t about having the loudest voice in the room. It’s about helping others find theirs.

What does being an Access Fellow actually look like?

There’s no one-size-fits-all path — you get to choose how you want to contribute. Some Fellows lead school outreach. Some create content. Others provide feedback behind the scenes. You can focus on one role or combine a few — it’s totally up to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a current mentee? +
Nope! You don’t have to be a current mentee, even former high school students are welcome if you care about access and equity.
How much time does it take? +
As much or as little as you want. Most Fellows spend ~1 hour per week, but it’s totally flexible.
Is this a paid position? +
No, just like all our roles, this is a volunteer opportunity. Fellows give back to help others and keep our mentorship program free.
What if my school says no? +
No worries. We’ll help you find creative workarounds, even just posting in chats or sharing in a WhatsApp group can make a difference.
Do I need to be based in a certain country? +
Not at all! The program is open to students anywhere. We love seeing Fellows represent different countries and school systems.
