5 Questions with Beni Mautner

Beni is the Global Director of Technology at Project Access. He came on board as an Engineer about two years ago and handled most of the tech stuff at PA for a bit. After a while, he joined the leadership team and helped make the switch to using more in-house tech solutions, starting with moving the Talent Team's operations to PA’s own platform—which now handles a lot of the daily workflows and data.

Beni is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, after finishing high school last year. On the side, he recently got his Private Pilot’s License, which was a huge personal goal for him and shows his love for learning new things, both in tech and beyond.

1. How did you get into your current role at Project Access?

I first heard about Project Access from Lukas, our CEO, about two years ago. He mentioned some challenges they were having with their team management setup, and I was looking for a new project at the time. So, I jumped in and started building an in-house solution, which eventually led me to take on the role of managing all things IT and Engineering for PA.

2. What is your favourite part of PA?

I really love the community at Project Access — everyone is super dedicated and is working toward the same goal. One of my favourite memories was a social meetup where I got to know the team way better than through just video calls. It really reminded me how awesome and passionate the people here are.

3. What’s your favourite beverage?

I'm definitely a big coffee fan, but I also enjoy matcha tea. It’s my go-to when I want something that’s more exciting than coffee.

4. Best study tip?

My best study tip is to make a clear plan of what you want to get done and when. I like using "Time Blocking," where you set aside specific chunks of time for each task, which helps me stay focused and avoid procrastinating. Plus, setting up calendar reminders makes it easier to stay on track and switch between tasks smoothly.

5. Can you tell us more about the PA platform you’re working on?

Right now, my team and I are working on a new mentorship platform to make life easier for both mentors and mentees. It’s designed to provide easy access to helpful resources and make the whole mentorship process smoother. Plus, it’ll give everyone better access to their pairing info, making the experience more effective and rewarding for everyone involved.
