Project Access partners with transformative educational platforms as part of its expansion plans

Project Access International, a global educational non-profit organization and UK charity, is delighted to partner with two transformative educational platforms, Save My Exams and TutorHive, in its efforts to bridge the gap separating disadvantaged students from equal access to top universities.

Project Access is committed to empowering less privileged students both holistically and individually through mentorship, dedicated programme classes, resources and advice. With Project Access having helped over 5,000 students from over 140 countries since its launch at the University of Oxford in 2016, the partnerships with Save My Exams and TutorHive are another leap in the right direction.

Save My Exams helps students study smarter for their GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB exams. The company offers more than 20,000 revision notes and over 100,000 practice questions, sample answers, past papers, marking schemes and exam tips all tailored to students’ exam boards. As part of the partnership, Save My Exams is offering over 120 mentees of the ‘Project Access x Cambridge’ programme a scholarship for free access to all academic resources.

By integrating Project Access' student-driven, "pay-it-forward" mentorship with Save My Exams' academic resources, we can provide less privileged students with both guidance and resources to achieve their goals - creating a world where passion and potential define a young person's future.

TutorHive aims to make tutoring accessible, effective and fun by bringing like-minded students and educators together to build the perfect study groups. TutorHive and Project Access want to work together to unlock the potential of all learners. As part of this collaboration, all Project Access mentees are offered a free TutorHive lesson. TutorHive also facilitates applications from Project Access mentors who want to join the education revolution and earn a flexible income by sharing their knowledge with those who need a boost.

Taran Glasson, Chief Mentorship Officer at Project Access, said: “We are extremely proud of these two new partnerships that support our mentees, and hope that together we can help even more students from underrepresented backgrounds.

“Save My Exams and TutorHive have an incredible standing in the education industry and will further uplift our mentees as they strive towards success.”

Lukas Popp, Chief Executive Officer at Project Access, added: “Following the pandemic disruption, which has brought both opportunities and even greater challenges for both our mentees and us, we at Project Access are even more excited to see our scale of impact grow, not least through our recent partnership with several colleges at the University of Cambridge.

"By building tailored mentorship programmes, a pool of application resources and a student volunteer community, we believe in addressing disparities in educational access. It is inspiring to see collaborations such as these flourishing and so many partners committed to supporting our efforts and mentees."

Constance Mantle, CEO of Save My Exams, said: “Project Access’ efforts in providing tailored support for students aligns perfectly with our mission at Save My Exams: to empower students to succeed. We are excited and proud to be supporting their mentees with our resources, so that as many students as possible, regardless of background, can fulfil their ambitions.”

Rushab Shah, CEO of TutorHive, said: “We are delighted to be working with Project Access to unlock the potential of all learners. Our organisations are aligned on helping students get the support they really need to overcome the challenges of the education system. Making higher education accessible to everyone is hugely important and this partnership will support both learners and educators to explore new opportunities to unlock their potential.”

Project Access is supported by a network of more than 25 business, technology and knowledge sponsors and partners who we connect to our diverse community of students at the world's best universities.

About Project Access

Project Access International is a global not-for-profit organisation and UK-registered charity that promotes equal access to education - our mission is "to create a world where passion and potential define a young person's future". With a key focus on the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union, we advocate for equal and fair access to top universities. That's why we've developed a free programme to support students who face barriers of any kind in their application - be they financial, informational, privilege, gender, disability, class, or otherwise - to both undergraduate and graduate programmes.

At the heart of our programme is one-to-one mentoring, whereby we pair applicants with a mentor who is studying the desired programme at their university of choice. In addition to mentoring, Project Access mentees join a community of applicants worldwide and receive access to an extensive pool of resources, content, and our dedicated programme classes.
